Colin's Journey

My son Colin was diagnosed with a catastrophic form of epilepsy five years ago when he was just three years old. In the past five years, Colin has been on six different medications, the Ketogenic diet, and had a Vagus Nerve Stimulator surgically inserted to try to control the seizures that occurred on a daily basis. Despite all of these interventions, we have only had a few seizure free months in five years, making life for Colin and our entire family very difficult. These debilitating seizures coupled with high doses of pharmaceutical drugs have resulted in developmental delays and all too often, a very low quality of life. I was fortunate enough to read a posting by a woman whose son with the same diagnosis as Colin, had gone completely seizure free after three months of starting treatment with a CBD rich medical marijuana strain produced by the Stanley’s. I immediately began my quest to obtain a license for my son and in January of 2013, started him on this high CBD medicine. Since then, we have successfully weaned one of the three medications he is currently on and have seen a 90% reduction in seizure activity. The Stanley’s miraculous medicine has given me hope for Colin’s future where before there were only feelings of helplessness and despair. It saddens me to know there are other families struggling with devastating diseases who are on a waiting list and cannot yet benefit from the curative properties of this natural medicine.
